Putting Aaron Rodgers on the cover of Madden NFL 12 is believable. Everything else, well, you should be able to tell this is satire even without The Onion Sportsdome branding.
With a lockout looming, and as the league recently reconfigured its contract to terms more favourable to EA Sports, I can guarantee that this will not be the year in which Madden showcases hard-hitting action, satirical or otherwise. The league is extremely sensitive to this subject – just ask Toyota – and I doubt any licensed NFL video game could make on-field violence a centrepiece attraction given the current climate.
