Delayed Games Give Dynasty Warriors More Time To Shine

It was a week light in new video game releases in Japan. Sega’s gangsters meet zombies game, Yakuza Of The End, was supposed to have been released this past week, but was delayed after Japan’s natural disasters. That gives not-so-fresh games more opportunity to sell overseas.

Last week’s bestseller, Dynasty Warriors 6 (DW7 in North America) holds onto the number one spot, with PSP game Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy and Nintendo 3DS adventure Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask retaining second and third place respectively.

The list of new and charting games is short: Powerful Golf for the DS and Splinter Cell for the 3DS are the biggest new highlights on Media Create’s sales chart.

Here are the bestselling games in Japan for the week of March 14 to 21.

Hardware sales in the country were unsurprisingly quiet, with the Nintendo 3DS topping the charts in its fourth week on the chart. The PlayStation 3 and PSP swap spots, while the rest of the Nintendo hardware line languishes, puttering along while all attention focuses on the 3DS.
