Slated to be included in a software update following the system’s launch in North America later this month, Nintendo describes this new features as a “short-form video service” which will give owners access to Hollywood movie trailers running in full 3D, giving viewers a taste of the 3D theatre experience in the palm of their hand. The Green Lantern movie was mentioned specifically, but I’m sure they’ll have good movies as well.
Other content slated for the service includes video game marketing materials and short video clips, including music videos and comedy shorts selected by Nintendo for inclusion in the service.
Is it wrong to be excited about seeing trailers for 3D movies in actual 3D?

Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11:00 AMThis is brilliant, to be honest.
Connecting a one of a kind handheld (for now anyway) that can stream 3D trailers really allows general users to view a 3D trailer for themself before they fork out the extra dosh for a 3D movie.
All nintendo needs to do now is apply this to trailers for their upcoming games. Getting notifications for trailers for upcoming 3DS games would be awesome.
If a movie/game’s main catch is the 3D (god forbid), then what better way than to give the public a taste of what they’d be paying for.
