The Hollywood Reporter writes that GK Films has snapped up the franchise’s film rights, perhaps telling an origin story of its own, one that would logically rule out Angelina Jolie returning as shorts-wearing adventure Lara Croft. Jolie played her in two films, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003).
That GK Films is also aiming “create daring new adventures for the young and dynamic Lara Croft” is a good indication that Jolie is out. Who can possibly don Lara’s trademark cleavage-maximizing tops and short shorts for a new Tomb Raider movie? Your casting choices are welcome in the comments.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 3:51 PM21st century = the century of the ‘reboot’
Firstly, Megan Fox FOR THE FAIL
Secondly, why would the movies, a grand total of TWO, need a frickin’ re-boot? This re-boot thing is getting so ridiculously out of hand..
If it has to be done, however, do it right.. Kate Beckinsale has no peer for the role. End of discussion! :)

Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 5:34 PMShouldn’t the next series of Tomb Raider movies by animation? or CGI? Then you don’t have to worry about a yank doing a UK voice.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 6:35 PMGood point, that international law that states that Americans are forbidden to do voice-work was a great victory for animated films everywhere.
Can you imagine if they had American leads for The Incredibles, Toy Story, Gnomeo and Juliet, Megamind or Kung Fu Panda?
Seriously, I’m glad they got in all those French-Polynesians.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 7:48 PMI’m guessing they will go for a young lara croft… wouldn’t mind seeing if Emma Roberts could pull it off, otherwise Erica Durance. Else just use one of the Lara Croft models
