The Facebook message appeared for only a moment, but long enough for Kotaku reader Nicolas to have it captured in his feed program. “Assassins, the day you have been waiting for has arrived!!! Click the link below to help reveal an exclusive look at the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game!”
The link accompanying the message delivered NeoGAF members to a Flash page where they could send a message via email, Twitter, or Facebook, along with an activity monitor to track the promotion’s progress.
Further analysis discovered that the Arabic writing appearing in the flickering video atop the Flash page read “Altair Ibn La Ahd” backwards, or “Altair, Son of No One”.
Is this a new console version of Assassin’s Creed starring the first game’s protagonist? A spin-off for iOS or a handheld system? Is it all a big ruse? According to another image pulled from the Flash file, all will be revealed in the May 13 issue of Game Informer.
We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for comment, and will update this post should we receive a response. In the meantime, hit up the link below to follow the full saga on NeoGAF.

Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 12:20 PMOdds are that it’s the PSP (although possibly NGP game) featuring Ezio travelling to the locations of the first game, in an attempt to bridge Altair and Ezio’s story. They’ve been talking it up a bit over the past 6 months.

Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 4:18 PM…I couldn’t bring myself to finish ASSASSINS CREED II, let alone that other one that came after it. And now this? It’s a little too much AC for me, thanks.

Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 9:11 PMI’d like to see more Altair. Something with no crossbow and pistol, to make things a little harder.
But I guess a sequel with less features than its predecessor isn’t really a good idea, so maybe some flashback memories.

Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 11:56 PMI just hope if it is a spin off game they don’t replace voice actors like they did in the psp game. Guy they got to voice Altair was pathetic.
