After a ludicrous eight years of work, a fan made Streets Of Rage Remake, created directly from scratch without single line of duplicated code, has been released. And you can download it here.
The Streets of Rage Remake is a remake of all the original games – Streets of Rage 1, 2, and 3 – thrown into one complete package in the style of Streets of Rage 2, arguably the best game in the series.
If you ever, at any stage in your gaming past, had any interest in this series you must check this out. An incredible amount of work has gone into making this a faithful remake, and they’ve done an amazing job.

One small nitpick about the article though: I would say it’s more in style of SoR3, not 2. Though that’s only with default options, seems like you can change them to SoR2 style, but I think they made the right choice.
