These two screens are it, sadly, but die-hard fans of the series will no doubt be able to drag some info out of the weapons and geography on show.
Ascend is the first Tribes game since 2004′s Vengeance, and will be out later this year on Xbox Live Arcade and the PC.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 3:32 PMNever played tribes but would love to give it a go. Is it still possible to get and play?

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 3:43 PMTribes 1 – it doesn’t require a CD key, but I doubt there are any populated servers around now.
Tribes 2 – no idea where you’d get it, and again I doubt there’d be any populated servers.
Tribes Vengeance – if there’s a higher power, there will be no populated servers (singleplayer was fine but the multiplayer didn’t appeal to new players OR veteran players).

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11:45 PMA few months ago I found that Starsiege Tribes (the first one) was freeware and so I downloaded it immediately, having lost my original CDs and there were indeed some servers still up and populated, I just had to look them up (google’d)…
but I will warn you… they’re kinda nuts. I didn’t last long and there seemed to be lots of hacking/modding of some kind going on :-P
Still, it was some good old fashioned Disc-Launcher fun :)

Wonder if you can still ski…

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 3:53 PMHi-rez wouldn’t dare release a Tribes game without including skiing… they would have one very angry fan-base on their hands if they even considered it!
Personally I can’t wait to see this game in action. Tribes 1 & 2 were two of the greatest games I’ve played online, ever. I would even rate my experiences playing Tribes beyond that of Counter-strike.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 3:34 PMI really liked the idea of Tribes back in the day when I had a 31.2 dial-up modem connection to the internet. It was like a proto-MMO mixed with MechWarrior. I was very sad I couldn’t play it properly!

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 4:01 PMExcitement!
With Tribes 1 & 2 I had to run it through a dialup modem and 2 ran a bit laggy on my PC at the time anyway. Now once this comes out I’ll be able to run it through a decent connection! I look forward to more Tribes goodness!! ^_^

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 4:01 PMVengeance was damn fun, and without Skiing, Section 8: Prejudice doesn’t feel right. Bring it on! :D

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 4:11 PMMan, the original was amazing.
Almost failed TAFE between this and Starcraft on account of playing on the library computers, lol.
Section 8 always kind of reminded me of Tribes. Ah the good ol’ days.
