Activision Boss Refused Sneak Peak Of Competitor’s Battlefield 3

According to CVG, Activision CEO wandered by the E3 booth of Battlefield 3, the regicidal threat to his company’s own Call of Duty franchise, for a friendly look at the competition. He was denied.

EDIT: CVG has updated its story. Activision has denied this event occurred. CVG’s source remains adamant it did.

    Suck shit, Kotick…

I don’t think he’d rip off BF3, hes too much of a cheapskate to make something thats good and doesn’t run off an engine thats like 10 years old.

You know Kotick doesn’t personally make the games, right?

No, Kotick is just an asshole. The gaming hardcore is shunning him, now the industry and hopefully next the mainstream.

    Oh well…

Let’s just pretend it did happen. The look on Kotick’s face when he realised Battlefield 3 will sh*t all over any CoD game would have been priceless.

Actually one second thoughts I’m sure he already knows. He’d have seen the brilliant trailers just like the rest of us.

I’ve never been able to get into CoD. Battlefield, on the other hand, looks like it may be a winner for some of my cash :-D

Good to see this gets reported here on Australian Kotaku… Unlike American Kotaku where they censored this news/comments about it, didn’t post any BF3 videos at all, and deleted all comments and banned users asking/talking about BF3 trailers.

“Hi Mr Kotick, you have part of my attention – you have the minimum amount. The rest of my attention is back at the offices of Dice, where my colleagues and I are doing things that no one in this E3, including and especially your studios, are intellectually or creatively capable of doing.”

Although to me – the appeal of BF3 will be in the Multiplayer – I have to say the single player is looking a LOT like COD4 will bells on.
