Insomniac has confirmed that it will be announcing its new, multiplatform project at EA’s E3 conference.
At this stage we have absolutely no idea what said project will be, but this is the first time Insomniac has worked on a multiplatform project.
Insomniac is known, of course, for its work on Ratchet & Clank and the Resistance series – so you might expect that guns may be involved in some way. That being said, Insomniac publicly stated that having EA as publisher represented a new step for Insomniac, so it could be that the team are working on something completely fresh. At this stage all we know is the project is a new IP.
Insomniac confirmed the upcoming reveal via twitter and, interestingly, used the words “new Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3 game and universe“. Perhaps this project is something a little more large scale which, considering the scope of Resistance, is a pretty huge call.
EA’s conference kicks of at 5.30am AET. We’ll be awake for it, how about you guys?

Monday, June 6, 2011 at 1:45 PMWait, so Insomniac have *three* major games in development at the same time? That’s pretty cool, but I hope that doesn’t mean they divide themselves too thinly.

Monday, June 6, 2011 at 3:17 PMi reckon they’ll take a short break from ratchet and clank for a couple of years, they’ve been making them for quite a while now
Here’s hoping to a Jak and Daxter fix during that period

Monday, June 6, 2011 at 3:38 PMJ&D is Naughty Dog’s, isn’t it? Not Insomniac’s. Although I guess it’s Sony who own the IP so I suppose they might hand it over to somebody else to leave Naughty Dog free to work on Uncharted.

Monday, June 6, 2011 at 6:58 PMYes, but Naughty Dog and Insomniac are closely related. However,as much as I love Jak 3, Naughty Dog will never release another one of those games, ever.
