Well, this is a surprise! We can’t believe that Kaz Hirai missed out on a chance to bark out his catch phrase, because Namco Bandai has just announced that a version of Ridge Racer is currently in development for the PlayStation Vita.
According to Andriasang, who broke the news, details are scarce and a proper name is yet for the game is yet to be decided – but Ridge Racer titles have typically launched alongside new Sony tech, and this game is thought to be no exception.
It’s being developed in house, with no specific release date as of yet.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 3:52 PMHey, even Jack Tretton threw a subtle jab at Kaz during the Press Conference. I think it’s okay to bag him out.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 3:37 PMI don’t care if it spawned a meme, Ridge Racer on the PSP (both) were some of the best RR ever…
Hopefully they can provide a similar game.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 6:16 PMI’m a RR fan, but I only just got the 3DS version (which I have been playing the shite out of) I don’t really want to buy another. I’d rather get Wipeout for PSV as my launch racing game this time.
