Nintendo, Americans Are Pissed Off You’re Not Giving Them RPGs

Xenoblade Chronicles is a Wii RPG that’s been out in Japan since 2010. It’ll be out in Europe in September. With no firm release date yet set for America, though, Yankee RPG fans have taken it upon themselves to convince Nintendo to take action.

While last week there was a plan to write Nintendo a letter, that campaign (which now has a name, Operation Rainfall) took a more practical turn over the weekend, fans signalling their wishes by voting with their wallets. Or, at least, their intent to purchase.

The game is currently sitting in the top spot of Amazon’s “Bestsellers in Video Games” chart, this despite the fact the game has no American release date and is still even using an old title the game was going to employ in the US (Monado: Beginning of the World).

The stunt has caught the eye of Nintendo of America, who posted on their official Facebook site “Hey fans, we appreciate your enthusiasm. Look for more updates to come soon!”. Cue, at time of posting, almost 1500 comments, all of them screaming for not just a localised version of Xenoblade Chronicles, but The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower as well.

There are even madmen calling for Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem. Good luck with that.

While the dedication of these fans is admirable, you’ve got to wonder – as Nintendo of America obviously has – whether there are enough paying customers (as opposed to vocal internet fans) out there worth making this happen.
