As we’ve done before, we need to settle things down from all of the recent E3 hype and point out which games from the year’s big show aren’t coming out this year.
With Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword helping to ensure that the rest of 2011 will be pretty great, the following E3-hyped games won’t be out until 2012 or later…
Note: These are North American release dates.

At least we get Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 this year! And a new Madden, right?

Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 9:20 AMTo be completely honest, I’m happy with that. There are enough big releases coming out this year to keep me occupied until 2012, no to mention working through my back catalogue of games I’m yet to complete.

Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 9:42 AMAll I really need for the rest of this year are Dark Souls, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and the Ico/SotC collection (and Journey if we’re talking downloadable games). Happy enough to leave the rest for next year. Although The Last Guardian is more than welcome to show up this year if it wants :P

Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:34 AMguild wars 2 will also likely be 2012 =p
But, Far Cry 3, Mass Effect 3, and bioshock are high on my list.
Deus Ex this year is at the top at the moment (partly because unlike the games listed above, there is a release date!)

Personally I’d like to to see more attempts at new IP’s which have the flexibility and opportunity to introduce radical concepts as opposed to go with what you know; but prettier.

Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 1:22 PMReasons #323 why I was woefully unexcited by this years E3. Some of these games have got another E3 between now and their actual release!
But where oh where is the Gears 3 love? That’s the game I’m most psyched for now this year. Brumak’s in Horde mode and tower defence online games!

Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 2:33 PMI dint really care since there’s enough stuff coming out this year.
That and it’s already difficult enough to study without highly anticipated releases on my back.

Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 10:47 PMI’m really sad to see this many games come out. Some of those developers won’t really see the profit they deserve and will likely get axed.
And it’s not gonna get any easier next-gen.
