Toys R Us Brings Halo, Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Toys To Comic-Con

Some people go to the San Diego Comic-Con for the latest news on their favourite comic books, television shows, and movies. Some go to hobnob with the stars, or show off their latest cosplay masterpiece. Me, I go for the toys, and this year Toys R Us is bringing plenty of exclusive video game merchandise for the masses.

Every year Toys R Us teams up with toy manufacturers to deliver semi-exclusive swag to the Comic-Con going masses, and this year is no exception. They’ve got everything from McFarlane Toys’ 10th Anniversary version of Halo‘s Spartan John-117 to early access to Masterpiece Rodimus Prime, otherwise known as the ungrateful asshole that got Optimus Prime killed.

The best thing about Toys R Us’ Comic-Con swag is that you don’t have to go to Comic-Con to get it. Each piece should be available for sale on the Toys R Us website on or around the time of the San Diego Comic-Con, which takes place from July 21 to July 24. Guess I won’t have to send McWhertor a shopping list this year. He always ignores them anyway.

“ThunderCats, Ho!” With this loud battle cry, Lion-O led his cat-like companions against the evil mutants of Plun-Darr and Mumm-Ra the Ever Living. Celebrating the release of MARVEL vs CAPCOM 3: Fate of Two Worlds, a video game sequel nearly 10 years in the making, this licensed miniature figures set is based on players’ favourite fighters! Fans can now re-create battle sequences with iconic characters including Captain America, Iron Man, Ryu and Morrigan Aensland.

Protector of Earthrealm and ally of the Elder Gods, immortal thunder god Raiden appears in his malevolent “Dark Raiden” form as seen in Mortal Kombat: Deception. This limited-edition version of Raiden also glows in the dark, demonstrating his mastery of electricity!

TRANSFORMERS collectors can own the heroic Rodimus Prime in this re-creation of the classic G1 action figure! Best known as Optimus Prime’s successor to the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, this fan-favourite character can transform into his Winnebago vehicle mode. Set includes a miniature ally, the Target-Master Offshoot, a buzz saw and the legendary Matrix of Leadership.

Based on the 2005 video game Star Wars: Republic Commando, this set features Delta Squad, a crack Clone Trooper commando unit, as they battle the Trade Federation’s droid army. The four members of the covert group include stoic leader Boss; expert marksman Sev; computer hacker Fixer; and wisecracking demolitions expert Scorch. Also includes a Geonosian Warrior and battle accessories.

Own a “plushed up” version of the world’s fastest blue-haired mammal! This 20th Anniversary edition of SEGA’s supersonic mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog, features full articulation and is the first-ever flocked deluxe action figure, featuring precise fibre particles that provide a polished plush feel to Sonic’s fur.

Get ready for battle! Featuring a sneaky duo of villainy – The Man of Steel’s inverted nemesis and The Most Powerful Man in the Universe’s evil, robotic duplicate – this set allows fans to battle for doppelganger supremacy of Eternia and Metropolis! Includes Bizarro and Faker figures, as well as character descriptions and power statistics.
