Guild Wars 2′s Art Just Won’t Stop Pleasing Our Eyeballs

We’ve featured the concept art of Guild Wars 2 here twice before, showcasing the talents of concept artists Levi Hopkins and Kekai Kotaki. Today, then, let’s do it a third and final time.

Think of it as a trilogy, with the final act the contributions of the series’ Creative Director, Daniel Dociu.

Dociu, born in Romania, has been living in the US since 1990, and prior to his work on the Guild Wars series was employed at studios like Square, Zipper and EA.

He’s something of a legend in the world of concept art, having been recently honoured with EXPOSÉ’S Grand Master Award for lifetime achievement, putting him alongside the likes of Syd Mead (Blade Runner), Ralph Macquarrie (Star Wars) and HR Giger (Alien).

Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists.

If someone hits her in just the right way, she’s going to lose an eye, whoever designed that mask/helmet thing needs a good talking to from someone in health & safety

His cities and castles are the best. We can all have a giggle at that set of armor, but i would rather focus on the amazing landscapes.

Meh. For every one person that would prefer the female armour in these games to have some practical use there’s plenty more that just want the eye candy, not personally fussed either way, I like my costumes in fantasy games to look pretty over practical, goes for the males too, albeit with an excess of armour in that case >_>

You know what I like to do?

Hate on FANTASY designs cause you know it is not REAL enough.

Giant Charr, Minature Asura – that’s fine, but NO BLOODY WAY ARE YOU PUTTING IN HALF NAKED FEMALE ARMOUR IN THE GAME IT’S NOT REALISTIC ENOUGH.
