Hard Reset Gets Release Date, System Reqs, New Screens

I’ve talked about how good Flying Wild Hog’s cyberpunk shooter Hard Reset is. I’ve shown you how good it is. All that’s left is for you to see for yourself when the game hits Steam on September 13. Can your PC handle it?

The rapid-fire rollercoaster of Hard Reset‘s PR campaign is winding down as Flying Wild Hog winds up to pitch the game up on Steam for $US29.99 (with an additional 10 per cent off for customers that preorder) next month. There are just a couple of details they need to get out of the way first, such as the game’s minimum and recommended specs. How does your rig hold up?

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics card: 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800GS / ATI Radeon HD 3870 or better
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: DirectX 9.0c
Hard Drive: 4 GB free hard drive space

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: Intel Quad Core 2.3 GHz / AMD Phenom II x4 2.5 GHz
RAM: 3 GB
Graphics card: 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT / ATI Radeon HD 4870 or better
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: DirectX 9.0c
Hard Drive: 4 GB free hard drive space

Seems relatively modest by today’s standards. If your machine can muscle through it, your monitor could look like these latest four screens in two weeks.

$30 sounds great. I have been looking at the coverage and hoping I could get this but now I know I can. Should be great!

My 2yo PC can handle the recommended specs. Very modest requirements indeed. And if it looks that good. Awesome :)

Presuming I can get all my Deus Ex-ing out of my system in time, this could be next on the shopping list.

Is it getting a retail release? I read a preview the other day which got me interested, but I’d prefer to grab a non-Steam copy if possible!
