The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword limited edition bundle, Tetris: Axis for the 3DS and Professor Layton and the Last Specter were hot topics at a recent meeting Nintendo had with GameStop managers to discuss big game releases for the fall (Australian spring). Obviously one of those stood out more than the other two.
Retailing for $US69.99, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword gold bundle packages the game with a limited edition gold-coloured, Triforce-emblazoned Wii Remote Plus, replacing that dirty white one that just seems inadequate for a new Zelda title. It’ll be available on November 20 alongside plain vanilla versions of the game.
They might not be so plain vanilla, however, as Nintendo is slipping in a bonus disc in each game of the initial shipments, featuring orchestral arrangements of select songs that will be performed at The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert.
Meanwhile, in headache land, Tetris: Axis ships on October 20 for the 3DS, with more than 20 different game modes and support for eight player local multiplayer, something Tetris fans haven’t seemed to concerned about in the past but hey, you never know.
Then on October 17 Professor Layton and the Last Specter brings its prequel puzzling to the DS, along a bonus role-playing game called Professor Layton’s London Life with more than 100 hours of additional gameplay exclusive to North America.
Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, Scott Moffitt, seems pleased.
“Nintendo has something for you this fall, no matter what type of gamer you are, no matter what Nintendo system you’re playing,” said Moffitt. “Whether you’re looking for a world-spanning epic like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the pick-up-and-play puzzle fun of Tetris: Axis or the mind-bending adventure of Professor Layton and the Last Specter, we’ve got you covered.”
Awesome, Mr Moffitt! And what if we love the fantastic role-playing adventure of Xenoblade Chronicles?

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 8:27 AMReally want this to comes here, I just hope the Australia Tax doesn’t make it too expensive. :/
In any case, I don’t have a Motion Plus remote yet so I pretty much need this bundle. Luckily it’s pretty snazzy.

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 9:03 AMseeing as though the US is adding on 40% of the RRP, can’t see Nintendo here doing anything different, would fully expect this between $130-150

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 9:21 AMThat’s what I’m afraid of. With any luck, the retailers will bring it down to a more reasonable price at launch. (They might not though, because it’s a special edition… sigh).
