Mark Strong, the actor who voices Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine‘s Captain Titus, is new to the Warhammer world. After getting a taste of Warhammer, he says he want to “take a big swim” in the universe.
An actor mostly known for playing villains, he says it’s nice to play a many-levelled hero this time. Strong has the kind of voice you’d imagine would come out of a space marine with a chainsword to an orc’s throat. He hints at a betrayal in the game, but doesn’t give any spoilers.
The Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine demo is available today on Xbox 360 and PC and tomorrow on PS3. Be sure to check out Kotaku’s impressions.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 9:59 AMDemo available today, huh? Is that for Australia as well as US?
Also, it’s nice to see an article from the US about this game that isn’t snide or dismissive, or completely lacking text.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 12:46 PMI downloaded the demo last night, actually (1.5gb iirc). Quite good fun, it’s basically Gears of War without the “gluing to waist-high walls” and a lot more “using a chainsword to chop orks to bits”, hilariously good fun if you’re a sucker for comical brutality (oh god call anti-R18+ crusaders!). There’s shooting bits but you’ll spend most of your time in melee (because performing an ‘execution kill’ is the only way to gain health).

Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 12:42 PMThe advertisement is very un-warhammery! I’m glad to see warhammer which has been the catalyst for a number of other games finally getting a place in the spotlight. I recomend people jump on http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Warhammer_40,000
and learn more of the rich story that is Warhammer 40K.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 3:53 PMIts either one of the commanders or a Techmarine that is the traitor, it always is after all.
There is something about being more machine than man that always seems to make people crazy.
