A diverse, if fleeting, look at the characters, locations, combat and activities for EA’s upcoming Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The MMO-now-singleplayer RPG in development 38 Studios is shaping up nicely — it even has the mandatory lock-picking mini game. Still, it’s hard not to be wary of its transformation from MMO to solo affair; I’ve collected enough pig livers to last me a lifetime.

Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 7:12 PMWhat would make a developer even bother with a project like this? What a waste of everyone’s time.

Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 10:20 PMCould not agree with you more, why bother trying to release a fun action-RPG when there is super rad cool stuff like “Call of Duty 294: Hold my bed-pan bro there be ruskies to shoot!” that can be played instead.

Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10:25 AMIt’s just how unoriginal the entire game is. Why would you bother funnelling so much money into something that comes out at the end looking EXACTLY like tens of other games already released.

Anyone know if you can keep playing after the main quest… ala Rolston’s other work?

Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 10:23 PMI took one look at the scenery and decided that it’s an instant “no buy” from me. Seriously, where is the realism and super gritty stuff? Screw this sesame street stuff, yo.

Monday, September 26, 2011 at 8:12 AMI don’t care much for RPGs made after the FFXs, they all look the same, however this one caught my eye (I’m still not going to get it though, not enough hours in the day to commit to a [run of the] Mill-RPG) as it had nice looking locations reminiscent of Kyrandia, but after 1 min into the vid you can tell it’s silly and very complicated, and looks like it will take 2 years to finish.
