Sony Announces Games And Pricing For U.S. PlayStation Vita Launch

We’ve known for a while when the PlayStation Vita was hitting American shores, but were still in the dark about exactly what games would be coming with it. No more. Sony’s finally detailed the games that will be available when their newest gaming handheld hit on February 22, 2012.

According to a post on the official PlayStation blog, the price for games will range from $US9.99 to $US49.99. It’s a safe bet that the lower end of the price spectrum will be for downloadable titles like Escape Plan. The full list is below and you’ll notice a conspicuous absence of Activision titles and only one EA title in the form of FIFA 12. Still, with an Uncharted game, Plants Vs. Zombies and promising titles like Super StarDust Delta on day one, this looks like a pretty strong line-up. There’s also a list of Vita accessories over at the original post, so click on through if you want to know how much memory cards and other tchotchkes will cost you.

While most people are pre-order at EB/GAME/JB I plan on waiting until like the week before and checking the bundle packs at Big W/Kmart/Target and DSE. They’ll probably have the cheapest bundles going… failing that JB will probably be the next best.

But yeah, I’m totally buying this and uncharted at launch!

I’ll probably be doing this as well. The bigger stores like Big W and Target usually have better launch prices.

And since 90% of people are loyal to a large retailer, Big W will probably have nearly unlimited stock! :)

Amazon doesn’t ship electronics to Australia. And by the time you factor in shipping anyway, you’re paying roughly the same price anyway.

Dynasty Warriors and Uncharted are the games I’m sold on. Then it’ll just come down to price for some others.

I spoke to JB Hi-Fi and they WILL NOT be selling the 3G version of the PS Vita due to their exclusivity agreement with Telstra. They will only be selling the WiFi version.
