Will Ace Attorney 5 Go West?

Capcom dropped a bomb today, announcing in Japan that Gyakuten Saiban 5 will be made. Known in the west as Ace Attorney, this is cause for joy among fans of the courtroom adventure series, but international release plans are unconfirmed.

While Ace Attorney has been solidly successful in the West despite (or perhaps thanks to) its unusual premise, not all games in the series have released outside Japan. Ace Attorney Investigations 2 is one such title.

Capcom also announced that the first three games in the Ace Attorney series will get high-definition re-releases on iOS and Android devices but, again, made no mention of international release plans for these versions.

Not releasing the iOS games would be throwing away free money, given that they’re translated already.

This makes buying my 3DS feel all the more worthwhile, though I only bought it initially because Layton vs Phoenix is in development. I hope they continue from where Apollo Justice left off. We still haven’t seen adult Maya.

I’m pretty sure they said that Layton vs Phoenix isn’t going to be translated and given an international release. Which makes me very :(

Given Gorndar’s comment, you wasted your money.

now, not translating Gyakuten Kenji 2 i’m not as mad about, because it is a spin off, but, IF THEY DON’T TRANSLATE THIS I’LL FIND YOU CAPCOM!

It’s okay, Capcom killed off Edgeworth anyway in the spin-off. Didn’t miss anything. Also they won’t translate this, not enough opportunities to add DLC.
