Zen Pinball Makes Its 3DS Debut Next Week

After successful silver ball outings on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and iOS and Android devices, Zen Studios brings their plucky brand of video game pinball to the 3DS next week with the downloadable Zen Pinball 3D, complete with support for downloadable tables.

It’s no secret that I am slightly in love with the way Zen Studios does pinball. The developer’s fantasy-meets-reality take combines out-of-this-world tables with semi-realistic ball physics to create tables that will eat your soul, whether they be Marvel-themed or completely original creations.

Come January 12 the Nintendo 3DS becomes host to the latest Zen pinball platform, Zen Pinball 3D. For $US6.99 you get four classic Zen tables — Earth defence, Eldorado, Excalibur, and Shaman — all playable in full stereoscopic 3D, along with leaderboards and table-specific challenges galore.

Plus Zen has plans to support the title with regular downloadable content, just like its console big brothers. It’s the shining silver gift that keeps on giving. If anything it has to be better than the Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection, the only other pinball video game option currently available for the 3DS.

Zen Pinball 3D hits the eShop next week for $US6.99.
