Kurt Sutter, creator of FX show Sons of Anarchy that centres on an outlaw motorcycle “club”, tweeted on Friday of the possibility of a game spin-off. SOA and the fictional town of Charming are the perfect setting for an open world game, where gun trafficking and fist fights against rival MCs run rampant.
Think of the missions you could take on, like operating a porn studio business and shutting down white supremacist drug rings. The in-gang conflicts could make for a compelling story, too. While the quality of SOA seemed to teeter off during the third season, I’m still hopeful that things will look up now that [minor spoilers] the incessant baby-chase in Ireland is over with.
As Buzz Focus alluded to, Rockstar would be the perfect choice for a game of this caliber, although it seems unlikely given Sutter’s second tweet that a “platform-based” game would be too costly in both money and time. The meetings currently being taken with a “major gaming company” will undoubtedly result in a browser-based game, but a girl can still dream.
