This is the first time I’ve used the word ‘porn’ in the title, and I hope it will be the last, but I just couldn’t think of any other way to describe the latest trailer for Max Payne 3. It’s a look at the weaponry featured in the game, and it looks a bit spiffy.
I care less about the actual guns featured in the game, and more about their actual effect, because that’s really what Max Payne is about — interacting through the world by blasting faces. The thing that impressed me most when I last got to check out the game was the detail of the animation. Max Payne 3, as you’d expect is a game built for slow motion, and it shows in every aspect of the game.
Oh, and before I forget — the game’s release has been reconfirmed as May 15 for consoles, and May 29 for PC.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 9:40 AMDoesn’t matter if you get hit by a .22, .50cal, .303, .357, 9mm 12 gauge, 20 gauge your still going to be knocked off your feet and possibly killed, theres a reason why they call high calibur guns ‘wanker guns’.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10:26 AMKilled most likely, but not knocked off your feet movie style. I don’t think the bullet carries enough force to do that, sure it will shred your tissue and internal organs, and larger calibre the hydrostatic shock will stop your heart, but it isn’t going to throw you backwards like, well, you are attached to some sort of wireflying rig.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:08 AMI’d imagine I’d quickly keel over if shot, but bullets are like hole-punches not freight trains; no ones going to be flying backwards (but it does look cool for popcorn media).

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:38 AMI dont think a .22 is counted as a high caliber round…

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:52 AMWould the impact not be about as great as the kick?

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:56 AMAlso in par with the laws of physics, if the person who was hit flew backwards, the person who shot the bullet also receives the same amount of force and will also fly backwards.
Would be funny if it happened

splintex is right. the whole equal force in the opposite direction thing applies.
That being said, I’m going to love this game…can’t wait

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 12:09 PMThis isn’t a physics debate, think of me saying ‘Knocked of your feet’ as a way of saying incapacitated, my comments was really expressing that whether you use a small or larger calibur the end effect is normally the same.
