The Dinosaurs, Robots And BioShocks Of Artist Ben Mauro

Ben Mauro is a concept artist from New Zealand who has recently worked on The Hobbit. The new Superman movie, Man of Steel. Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium. Even the upcoming Star Wars TV show, Underworld.

He’s also done video game work with Insomniac Games on both Ratchet & Clank and Resistance, as well as helping out on multiplayer PC shooter Dino D-Day.

So let’s take a look at some of his stuff!

Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time Ben’s been featured here on Kotaku. Back in 2008 a personal project of his in which he reimagined BioShock’s Rapture made internet waves when people thought it was actual BioShock 2 concept art.

Among his professional work in the gallery above you’ll also find a bit of fan art, like said BioShock work as well as some takes on Ender’s Game.

You can see more of his work at his personal site.

Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists. If you’re in the business and have some concept, environment or character art you’d like to share, drop us a line!
