Good job I managed to finish Zelda over the weekend (finally) because new games are hitting stores with the force of a thousand hobo Nick Noltes. This week’s top banana? Well, it depends what tickles your fancy.
Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition (360/PS3/PC)
What is it? Well looky what we have here, the ‘Game of the Year’ edition of New Vegas, only Obsidian/Bethesda has neglected to call it a ‘Game of the Year’ edition on account of the fact it probably didn’t win any game of the year awards.
Should you care? I actually skipped on New Vegas, so I might give this a bash myself.
Grand Slam Tennis (360/PS3)
What is it? Tennis. With Johnny Mac and Pat Cash.
Should you care? Andy Murray.
Kingdoms of Amalur (360/PS3/PC)
What is it? An RPG powered by multipled development heavyweights.
Should you care? Early reviews are positive.
Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics (3DS)
What is it? Imagine Mario and Sonic actually competed at the real Olympics?
Should you care? I don’t really know where I’m going with this.
The Darkness II (360/PS3/PC)
What is it? Sequel to narrative driven shooter The Darkness.
Should you care? Demo was solid, and I like what I’ve seen so far of this. Also — I enjoyed the original.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:26 AMI decided to pre-order Kingdoms of Amalur after I heard thier would be 200 hours gameplay, sadly i’d probably still be playing Final Fantasy XIII-2 by the time wednesday comes around.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:38 AMIf a single reviewer says “Darksiders” in connection with this game I think I might have to buy it.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:48 AMMe too. Darksiders or a Souls game.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:03 AMIt is decent though very easy even on hard. Would not relate it to Dark Souls at all but Darksiders yes. 7/10 for me.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:13 AM7? See this is why I’m swimming in a hot tub full of $100 bills and pornstars. I’m willing to compromise my morals.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:43 AMIs that “7″ a real “7″, or a reviewer “7″?
Because if it’s the latter, you basically just called this game a turd! :)

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:38 AMWho am I kidding. I’m <10 hours into Skyrim. I'll give that one its due (I'm going to go ahead and guess 100 hours). Then hopefully Reckoning has had the inevitable launch bugs squashed and I can get stuck in.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:54 AMWell it has its issues. Very casual friendly, can respec cheaply so it never forces you into skill decisions which some may like but I do not.
Very easy as I said previously with the fate mechanic almost feeling cheap. Save it up for bosses and steam roll through them without a worry.
Certainly not a bad game but not as good as I was hoping.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:42 AMFrom what I played from KoA it seems like a deeper, less-silly Fable.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:58 AMlol, the fuck again!
Will look at getting The Darkness, but not sure… seeing as I’ll have my monies for the Vita in a couple of weeks.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:49 AMI would like to know the reason for this.
I guess it’s only really Catherine next week.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 12:58 PMI believe it’s a logistical, supplier-end issue. Date push is only for Australia, affects all retailers, so…

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:15 AMWait, Darkness II is THIS week? FUUUUUUUUUUUUU-Oh who am I kidding I’m not done with Skyrim yet anyway.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 12:19 PMDo give New Vegas a shot. It’s actually really good. I started playing it just the other day (I got a FO3/NV + dlc pack on steam for real cheap ages ago) and I’ve been hooked. Helluva lot more fun than FO3 by a long shot. It also doesn’t take a billion years to set up the story.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 3:23 PMThat’s interesting. I avoided NV because I had just finished FO3 a few months earlier and was Fallout-ed out…

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 12:45 PMWhat about the MGS HD collection?
VOOK
Monday, February 6, 2012 at 1:23 PMNone for me.
Talk to me about how not buying a new game every week can improve your life.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 9:29 AMSo I was out of the country over the break… but didn’t the Darkness get banned?
Are we getting a gimped version or the full one? Really enjoyed the first one and had fun with the demo but I wasn’t getting my hopes up to play the full thing,

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 12:56 PMI think it’s being released here in all its uncut glory. No idea what the ratings dudes are smoking, if the demo was any indication.
dave
Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 3:54 PMoh nice one thanks dude, i’ll chuck this back up on the old radar then.
Once i get through dark souls, skyrim, koa, and uncharted, and by then probably mass effect as well. sigh.
A wasted holidays outside doing things…
