BioShock Infinite’s Handyman Is The Saddest Tosser Of Them All

In the first “Heavy Hitters” video for BioShock Infinite we met evil robot George Washington. In this second video Ken Levine and crew introduce us to the Handyman, one of the first villains we saw in the game’s trailers, and possibly the last one we’ll see in game.

Capitalising on the inherent creepiness of “realistic” toys in the early 1900s, the Handyman is a tragic figure, his human heart trapped inside a monstrous mechanical shell, much like the Big Daddies of the wetter BioShock games.

Irrational’s Ken Levine tells us there’s a “certain sadness” to how the Handymen (plural) got trapped inside their metal bodies, but we’ll have to play the game to find out what that means. The developers also tell us that the Handyman has a habit of using non-player characters as projectiles, hurling them at the player without little regard for their health or wishes.

So yes, Sad Tosser seems to fit the bill nicely. Consider them re-dubbed.
