The Animation For This Disney Commercial Doesn't Look Very Disney

Above is a quick commercial for Tokyo Disney Resort. It doesn't look very Disney! There's a reason for that: Disney roped in Japanese anime studio Madhouse to create this spot. Madhouse is known for Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.

It's interest to see Disney greenlight something that diverges stylistically from its own animation style. But perhaps that was the point? It would not be a first, though, as Madhouse also handled the animation duties for Stitch!, the anime version of Lilo & Stitch.

Mr Ashcraft. As I understand, you have an interest in Japanese culture, particularly Japanese animation, or anime, as it is known. I'd just like to inform you that this is a website dedicated to the coverage of games and gaming related news.

    Best wishes,

Mr James. Maybe you should find out what this website is dedicated to before trying to tell a Senior Contributing Editor that he's doing it wrong. As the name (obviously?) suggests, this website is not supposed to be limited to gaming, but also includes Otaku and Japanese culture which (believe it or not) has had and continues to have a huge influence on video games.
If you don't like the non-gaming aspects of Kotaku; then feel free to ignore them.

"At Kotaku Australia, we’re carefully trying to build a reputation for creating the strongest, most engaging content surrounding games and gaming culture.

We cover the Australian gaming industry with a team of award-winning local journalists, and localise the best posts from the US, making sure to eliminate what’s irrelevant for Aussies. If you want to access the US site, you can go to us.kotaku.com." —From the About Kotaku Australia page (http://www.kotaku.com.au/about/)

This post was not about gaming culture, nor was it engaging. I'm not bashing Bashcraft, I'm bashing the post.

Thanks, now can we go back to "aww that was a nice vid disney. Amazing what they did in 30 seconds"

He just loves it when you just have to click on the article to comment on his so-called non-news.

Yeah touche, he's already gotten my views.

    i hate you brian

    This clip doesn't look Disney...
But it feels more Disney-ish than entire animated features from the studio in the last few years. And yes, over-rated Pixar movie, included.
