Bethesda Applies For A ‘Fus Ro Dah’ Trademark

This is what happened in my house throughout December: anytime either myself or my wife did something annoying — say my wife tried to watch Gossip Girl, or I started singing ‘Poker Face’ really loudly (it happens) — we would just scream ‘FUS RO DAH’ at one another! Skyrim people will understand. Zenimax has recognised the way this phrase has seeped into the vernacular of popular culture and decided to try and trademark it.

As reported by Fusible, Zenimax has taken the appropriate steps required to trademark everyone’s favourite Dragon shout. Makes sense. It seems like everything from ringtones to backpacks and bobble head dolls have been covered. We could be looking at a whole lot of merchandise here folks.

When Game Informer approached Bethesda for comment, the reply was simple: “just protecting our brand”.

This will forever be my favourite ‘Fus Ro Dah’.
