How was everyone's weekend, mine was split between getting my rump kicked in LoL and getting my rump kicked in Dark Souls, so it was a good weekend. \o/

Weekend was good, saw the fams for my nephews 1st birthday and then had dinner with the in laws sunday night. Had been a long time since I had roast lamb so that was enjoyable.
Tried out 2 new games
Capsized: Interesting little platformer, fairly easy so far but I think it is the sort of game that is designed for re playability and trying to 10 star each level. Set on a different planet and you jump way higher than a normal platformer which takes some getting used to. I had never realised how dependent you get on the standard jump height in a platformer until they go and change it on you
Blur: Already got my monies worth on this one, a fun little arcade racer. A couple of hours in and have completed my first one - on - one challenge. If anybody wants to add me as a friend for the offline multiplayer my username is Tigerion. Hopefully we can get a game night setup sometime for this
Mine was okay, though I was kinda babysitting though at home. Instead of 2 straight days of negative rambling from my family, I got 4. At least I got chocolate from a friend to consume so at least there's that.
Oh yeah and my support Blitzcrank play has got a fan now :)

So, I beat Metal Gear Solid 3 over the weekend. Damn, that was an awesome game.
I loved the final cutscene before fighting The Boss - I almost didn't want to fight her, as I found myself agreeing with her arguments and sentiments. Then the post-battle revelations from EVA turned half the plot on its head, and made The Boss' actions even more poignant. And the post-credits scene was blind mowing. I love Snake Eater!
Started playing Peace Walker, then after that it's Guns of the Patriots. I knew there was a reason I got a PS3 :P
I also beat inFamous 2 over the weekend. Was rather fun, except for the 'defend the generator' missions. They were horrible, and boring.

I've been playing Shadows of the Damned a little in amongst all the Metal Gear. It's rather fun. The gameplay and mechanics are all solid, if not particularly groundbreaking, the graphics are decent, but the humour is where the game really shines. So many immature giggles. I liked reading the book about George before fighting George :P

On a side note - i just love how everything is done competently, but not groundbreaking, but is still so damn enjoyable.

As you may now, I have been a bit slack with writing Cheapskate Gamer. This is due to a combination of not having the time, and lacking motivation when I do have the time. I have fixed up the time problem by rearranging my barely existent schedule, and have fixed the motivation problem by giving myself a sound beating over the head with an almost ripe pear.
I have some ideas on how to make Cheapskate Gamer better. This involves finding out more about game keys (like which sites are legit and whatnot) like some people suggested, and I'm also thinking of utilizing the facebook page more, posting things on there like Steam midweek/weekend sales, Zavvi's Mega Monday sales, instore sales, and various other similar things. And that's about all I got right now. So, I need suggestions! How can I make Cheapskate better than it ever was before? Help me TAYbie Wans, you're my only hope!

correct me if I'm wrong but you don't need any funds in your playpal account when it's linked to a bank account. It just takes money from the bank account when you use paypal to buy something.

I'm not sure since I made a PayPal account pretty recently and haven't tried using it for eBay :P
When I tried to buy stuff from online retailers like Zavvi, OzGameShop and Steam it said I was unable too because "This seller only accepts instant payments" (or something along those lines). It gave me the option to transfer money from a bank account to my PayPal funds and once that was done (in about 5 days or so) I was able to purchase stuff instantly from Steam. I'm guessing this is because I only have the bank account and no credit/debit card linked to it.
I don't have a job (full time uni student) so my bank account funds are limited :P
Might be the debit card thing... Perhaps it has to go through VISA.
Mine is linked to a NAB bank account that has a debit card (but no credit card)
have you actually properly verified your bank account? usually they put a few cents into your account and you have to tell them how much it was - this confirms you have access to that account.

Good luck. The market is picking up right now. At the start of the year it was really difficult because everyone thought that Europe could go bankrupt at any moment (and it still might) but the signs are better now and people are hiring again.
