Been listening to Potaku Ep 2 again this afternoon. RE: Assassin's Creed discussion.
I have only played 1 & 2, so maybe I'm wrong, but I think I recall, or someone was telling me about Brotherhood or Revelations, that Desmond starts having more frequent flashbacks/waking dreams, which was touched on just a little in AC2. My understanding was that Desmond starts being able to tap into the memories of his ancestors much more easily. So maybe in AC3 Desmond doesn't need/use the Animus anymore? From memory AC1 touched on there being other test subjects, so maybe one of those is tapping into the memories of this female assassin?
I haven't listened to Potaku (can't get it thru itunes on my ipad yet) but assuming you're talking about the assassin in the upcoming Vita game, Ubisoft have said that Liberation is not told from Desmond's perspective so she's probably not one of his ancestors.
Aveline won't be a descendant of Connor/Ezio/Altair.
Which leaves the question of who's in the animus. It could be anyone and be taking place at any time since the original animus was built.

Just to be pedantic: she could still be an ancestor of Desmond without being a descendent of Ezio or Altair - she's contemporary with Connor so there's nothing stopping them hooking up, or any of her descendants. However Ubisoft says her game isn't from Desmond's perspective. Maybe Subject 17?

NERD RAGE!!! Desmond is subject 17, your thinking of 16 who we met in Revelations but was mentioned in AC1 (wrote on the walls) and was behind the glyph puzzels in AC2 and Brotherhood.
But yes Avaline has no relation to Desmond. They may not even have an animus in the story for her, but I doubt it.
My Assassin's Creed prediction: You're actually playing as one of Desmond's descendants who's hooked into an animus and is looking back at Desmond's life.
Maybe that sort of "twist" is too obvious and cliche but I think they'll do it.

Just finished Potaku ep 2 (loves it) and thought I heard something about more discussion after the featured song in the first episode and was like 'Oh, I never finished the last 10 minutes'. So went and tracked it down (not on SoundCloud anymore?) and there was totally no more discussion? Where are my hidden-track extra bonus DLC comments?! Maybe I misheard haha :S
Meanwhile I wasn't as sold on the Portal song when I finished the game - funny and all but not an amazing specimen of video game music. Anyway that's probably been discussed already.
Liking the whole Potaku initiative - keep it up please! (great listening to make work a little less boring for one hour)

It's more about luck and just knowing which types are super effective against the other. The mode we play gives you 6 random Pokemon with random levels and moves. A whole lot of fun :)

Wife and I went to see Missy Higgins last night. It was my Mother’s Day/baby-birth present to her. We had front row centre tickets, and we were so close we could almost see up Missy’s dress (well, not really, but we were close was the point I was trying to make).
I’ve always been on the fence about her music, neither disliking nor particularly liking it, but I really enjoyed the show. I’d hand in a man card, but I’ve long since run out of them.

My brother lives by the Man Card policy. When I tried to convince him that Gilmore Girls is a really well-written show and is ridiculously funny, he looked down his nose and raised one eyebrow like there was no way that could be true for a man, and almost as if I was letting down the entire fraternity. He just didn’t get it, and wouldn’t even try it, for fear that even accidental exposure would threaten his manhood. Long story short, he’s missing out and I feel bad for him.
Been there, man. I remember defending my love of the show Felicity in high school. It was before Lost, before Alias and before Star Trek but it was still J.J. Abrams writing. Any one judging it on the title is missing out.
I really liked season one of Felicity, but lost interest wicked fast in season 2, never went back.
