Yeah, laugh it up guys. While you’re all having fun playing video games on Saturday, I’ll be busy making the nine-hour drive from Melbourne to Sydney. Yeah. No video games for me. But what are you guys playing this weekend?
The thing with the drive is I’m going on my own, which sucks majorly. I won’t have anyone to talk to. I won’t have anyone to change my CD, I won’t have anyone to share driving duties with. Bleh. I’m thinking about downloading an audio book and listening to that on the way. Any suggestions?
So — games you’re playing this weekend. And ways to help me pass the time! GO!

DayZ boooy!
Just picked myself up Saints Row 3 and NBA2K12, which I've been both enjoying. Saints seems a little repetitive, but still good for mindless goofing.
I feel so inadequate at 2k12 even though my mate tells me I'm doing well for just getting into it. There's so much stuff to remember, the training camp alone took over an hour. It's really quite challenging and seems like mastering it will be very rewarding once I do.
Go Bulls! D.Rose to the basket all day baby!
Go Heat! Chalmers for three points all the way!
The tutorial does take crazy long but needs to be done. Once you get the hang of it it is a really great game that you can play forever.
Il be playing find a box to smash
Give it one for me mate.
Whoa, *driving* the whole way? That's hardcore mode. Howcome not just flying instead?
I've only done the trip once, but I actually really enjoyed it. GPS and cruise control are the best things ever, basically felt like I was piloting a spaceship rather than driving most of the time. Though it helped that I was driving my mum's people mover rather than my own car, and that thing felt like a spaceship most of the time anyway. But yeah, totally easy drive, leaning over to grab snacks from the passenger seat or do whatever on the long empty stretches of road, the collected works of Iron Maiden blaring out of the MP3 player connected to a tape adapter plugged into the stereo, since I decided to give them a try for the trip. Great decision too, the last song finished at exactly the moment I pulled back into my driveway at home.
Umm... yeah, ramble >.> Enjoy the trip I spose :P
Try a single 22 hour drive from Brisbane to Melbourne :P
Get the audiobook of World War Z by Max Brooks. Brilliant.
I have a date tonight so if all goes well i could be playing bedroom olympics all weekend.
To many jokes could be made about unlocking achievements.
I'm starting Shameless Gaming Month with Shadows of the Colossus on Sunday, but on Saturday I will be running a Minecraft Diamond Rush game on 360.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow because it was so hard to avoid the trailers for the next two from E3.
999: Well I just got the true ending but the girlfriend will no doubt ask for help/thoughts as she goes for it too.
Doctor Who PSN game: Yes it's very mediocre, yes it has some flat out bad design choices/level design/controls, yes I bought it purely for something to do with the gf.
Resonance of Fate: Maybe, I've been done for a week now but tossing up if I want to do Neverland.
I recently picked up Lords Of Shadow for the same reason! I loved it, very epic. And the ending.......wow
Tales of Symphonia... working on a backlog.
I've just started on NIER for the 360. I'd heard it was really good despite the mediocre reviews, and well...
I'm having a blast! Gonna go play some more!
I always found that word/title so odd. Do you pronounce it *Knee-Err* or is it like *Narr* or something fancy.
I've been pronouncing it like "knee-err". Didn't really think about it until now... hope it's right.
If you haven't listened to them before, get all the XFM Radio podcasts for Stephen Merchant, Ricjy Gervais and Karl Pilkington and then get the normal Ricky Gervais show podcasts and the "Guide to" podcasts.
Hours of listening pleasure and you will cry, it's that funny.
Dawnguard, Dawnguard, Dawnguard
I would recommend Harcore History pod casts that can go up to 5 hrs and are really interesting if you are into the topic. Also you cannot go wrong with the Radiolab podcasts.
The Walking Dead Ep. 2, Gravity Rush & Lollipop Chainsaw.
Witcher 2... Still very early on, but definitely quality. My wife insisted I get it just to break the Skyrim binge... but she's calling me, dammit! Skyrim... not my wife.
*checks phone*
Yeah, definitely Skyrim.

I'm playing a pretty intense RPG or maybe classified an adventure being my wedding tomorrow then off to my honeymoon in Thailand for 3 weeks. I was looking forward to having a go at Lego Batman 2 but I guess it will have to wait until I return.
Hope you have a great wedding! Congratulations:)
Xenoblade. Best rpg since xenogears
I'll be playing Pokémon LeafGreen on my Game Boy Micro! I'm upto the 4th Gym at the moment.
Finally platinumed MGS2 last night (!!!) so have moved back to Dead Space. Up to Chapter 11 on my first playthrough. I love playing it at night with my sound system up load....friggin scary!!
Damn, thats hardcore platting mgs2.
Haha cheers :) Took forever but such a great feeling to get through it all! VR missions and extreme mode were crazy!
Ratchet and Clank. In HD .
A combination of podcasts of This American Life and the always-excellent album The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads should see you through a Melb-Syd drive.
Showing my age? Maybe a little :p
Tonight I've been playing (and making progress with Assassin's Creed II - yay carnivale!) might also play some TF2 if the update comes through at any stage!
Tomorrow my Wii owning friend is coming over - last time I got him onto Trials HD, since then I've gotten Trials Evolution - so that's gonna be fun!
Hopes for OoT 3D.
Witcher 2 Xbox360 and Sega Vintage Collections, also mucking around with me new PC, got rid of my crunchy 'ol laptop :D
Team Fortress 2
