@bish. Yes, I would have said Mordin but I didn't want to have to talk about him in case I spoilered his storyline for Doc and Shiggy. Doc's currently playing ME2 so I wasn't sure how much he knew. I also should have mentioned Wrex. Plus a bazillion other people. :P It's so hard to be put on the spot like that.
@Eternal Darkness mentioners. The controls are really awkward to go back to now. :( But if anyone does play it, and only plans on going through it once they will probably have the most picking green when they get the choice early on. I think it's green. Whatever colour the sanity meter is. It will make it more fun because you'll be on the edge of sanity a lot and will get to see a fair amount of weird and creepy things that way.

Most of the party members from ME2 are pretty awesome. Except Jacob.
I like the not-so-romance talk with Samara. *random point*
Pretty much all the characters introduced in ME2 are interesting. But Mordin is super awesome.
I couldn't stand Jacob and Jack :P.
Jacob and Miranda were pretty boring, especially Jacob. A cardboard cutout character would have been just as interesting as him. :P
And I really liked Jack. The way she develops depending on if you treat her in a Paragon or Renegade way is really cool.

I probably fit into the play it once category. So... pick green? Not sure what you mean by this (haven't played the game at all yet, but I'm sure it'll make sense when I do) but I have read about some of the things that happens when your sanity drops so most of it won't be as 'scary' as it would've been back then :P
@Potaku stuffs - I didn't read what Mawt said on the last page (because I haven't listened to it yet) but reading what you (Strange) said above got me thinking about spoilers. For the first 3 eps I've listened too there were very minory spoilers for games I already played but I'm worried about spoilers for other games :P. Granted the stuff that was said wasn't too bad (Uncharted stuff is all I can recall at the moment) and for older games but I'm one of "those people" who still haven't played ME3 or all of ME2 or some of older games (Bioshocks). I'm sure it's fine but if there's any massive spoilers accidentally dropped in a later episode could someone holla first? :D. This is just me being extra careful but I doubt it'll happen.

There's no Mass Effect spoilers. Strange and I both kinda go 'it's hard to talk about this without spoiling things so I'll just say I like character X's development and blah blah they are interesting'. Definitely no massive 'Liara is secretly Wrex in disguise' plot spoilers. :P

Yeah I figured there wouldn't be anything too big but when Uncharted was mentioned the thing they talked about could be considered big I guess as it came as a surprise to me when I first played the game. Really did not see it coming.

I can tell you that I have cut a lot of spoilers from Potaku and I'm trying to make sure most games won't get ruined.
Metal gear Solid slipped through because the game is fifteen years old and the ending is fairly common knowledge now that MGS4 is out and starring "Old Snake".

I have never owned a console with a game pad so my ability to target with a controller is severely lacking. But I've been playing more games with the controller on PC now so a year later it might be time to give it another whirl.
A SHAMELESS GAMING MONTH PRODUCTION 2012
Now that the pineapple is the official Shameless Gaming month icon/logo/symbol-whatever- I think we should all have a pineapple event at the end of the month to celebrate our achievements.
It doesn't have to involve a physical meet-up but if you are able, feel free to do so.
The general idea is that on the 31st of July(or the weekend before since the 31st is a Tuesday) we should all partake in a pineapple based product or activity in celebration of our hopeful achievements at the time. Whatever you like, as long as it has a pineapple in it. For example:
1. Drink pineapple Juice
2.Eat a slice of pineapple-canned or fresh the choice is yours
3.Pizza with pineapple in it
4.Pineapple desserts
Also, other activities not related to food could include:
1. Making pineapple related user generated content-a pineapple house in minecraft? An LBP/LBP2 level?
2. Watch Pineapple Express with Seth Rogen and James Franco
3. Visit the pineapple Wikipedia page
4. Go to the store and take a photo of yourself with a pineapple
5. Make a video involving pineapples
6.If you live in Queensland near the Sunshine Coast visit the Big Pineapple.
Whatever you can do involving pineapples, do it.
Shameless gaming month seems to be good at encouraging people to at least finish of some games and I think this would be a perfect end to the month. I'd love it if this could happen and I'm sure it will be fun. So if you guys are up for it, let me know.
P.S.
1. I hope this is OK, Trjn. With your permission I could even ask Mark to put this as a conclusion during every shameless gaming month article and maybe even promote it once the month draws to a close
2. Can Potaku promote this maybe if people are receptive.

I actually don't mind pineapple on pizza. This was a reference to an event that occurred at a meat at F4ction's place, where we were deciding what pizza to order out and someone suggested hawaiian and Splicer was immediately like PINEAPPLE DOES NOT BELONG ON PIZZA.

The Living End announced this today what a brilliant thing! I wanted Mötley Crüe to do something like this at the Whiskey on Sunset Strip for their 30th anniversary.
I also have a few job opportunities coming up I hope, so I am thinking if I get said job I am planning on going to the Melbourne shows for a few reasons most of them revolve around the fact my friend wants me to visit her (she suggested I come to Melbourne again this morning for it haha) there & Brisbane is a little to out of the way unless I wanted to stay up there for me. Cause I know none of my mates would be interested in going.

You can buy a ticket for all 6 album shows, which is about 100 dollars cheaper than buying individual , but yeah would suck since they're about 1000 seat (if that) venues they're playing in.

To be honest I really don't think Serrels should have written this article unless he went to OzCC himself. He's trying to be fair but he's getting his information from people that hate the competition and will do anything to make them look bad and talk up themselves. All conventions have teething problems and the fact that things were better organised on the second day mean that at least OzCC are learning from their mistakes. I've been to Brisbane Supanovas that are awfully disorganised and they've been doing it for ages. Also people who went to last year's Melbourne Armageddon tell me it was just as bad if not worse than OzCC. It's the nature of the beast, really.
I'm very clear in the podcast description that we are unofficial and not associated with Allure or that "hack', Mark Serrels (JOKE!)
I'm still funny about OzCC because they aren't affiliated with Comic-Con International, and that wasn't made clear at the start. It does reek of trading off another event's reputation. Also the bragging that they could put together an even in 3 months.

While the story would have been better had Mark attended personally, the complaints coming from attendees still warrants a story in my book.

Hmm. Dragons Dogma is a lot harder then I gave it credit for. Combat seems a bit loose for what it's demanding of me but perhaps I've just been spoiled by Dark Souls.

So I was thinking of co-op pineapple games some of us had in common that we could help get through together. I don't really have much except for Halo: Reach and I know Freeze and RobotAleph are keen but is anyone else?
I'm unemployed and thus free pretty much whenever so just let me know a time when you want to play and I'm down for some co-op campaign :D. My internet can be pretty shitty and laggy though but we'll see how things go!
There is normal Monday Night Halo multiplayer tonight but I wouldn't mind some co-op campaign. And being the bad egg that I am, I'll skip all the cutscenes because I accidentally did it already and it'll be silly to stop now :P

I started Mass Effect 2 (on PS3) today. I'm finding it a bit boring, honestly, but that's not what I'm here to talk about!
Question: Wasn't there supposed to be something at the start of the PS3 version that lets you make story decisions from ME1? Or am I misremembering? I assumed there would be a quick summary of what happened at the start or something like that. Anyway, the point is I have next to no idea what's going on. :P
There is definitely meant to be a 6 minute or so comic-sort-of-thing explaining the major plot points and letting you decide on some key decisions from the first game. Go hunt that down and start again, man! :P You're gonna want it to make sense of things.
Have to download the Cerberus Network Pack. I made tht mistake on my replay through preparing for 3 and got stuck with default decisions. Hope you didn't get too far through yet.
Yeah, there should be a comic of some sort. I think you need to redeem the code that came with the game if you bought it new and download a network pack from the PSN store,
Really? D: It didn't mention that on the little leaflet with my code on it so I didn't bother downloading it. All it said was that you get a DLC character and some guns... I don't really want to start again, though I'm not very far in. I wasn't exactly having fun during the first mission thing :P Maybe having some idea what I'm doing will make it more enjoyable though.

Starting playing Half Life 2 just after midnight on Sunday.

One down, many to go. This is going to be a helluva month. Really enjoyed this game, aside from a few frustrating moments where I simply couldn't work out where I was meant to go. Mucking about with the physics was a lot of fun. Made a doll go down a slide in a milk crate. That took a bit of effort but I did it~
Staying up late to watch the Tour de France might end up being a mistake. Good thing these are the short stages right now so I'm not staying up that late.
So far, nothing of importance has happened. At least not in the general classifications because nothing happens there until they hit the mountains.
In the sprints, Cavendish notched up another stage win last night (his career 21st or some ridiculous number) and the Aussies Mark Renshaw and Matt Goss both look like they're vying for the Green jersey. With Cavendish planning to drop out to race in the Olympics, it'd be nice to see one of those two pick up the sprinter's Greeny Jersey.
I don't know anything about cycling, or who is racing - but I watched it for a half hour the other morning. Dem landscapes are purdy.

First they suck you in with the scenery porn, then you cheer for the guy who made an early breakaway and rode by himself all day before getting caught 10km from the finish. Next thing you know, you're cheering for Matthew Goss to win the green and hoping that nobody from BMC got caught up in that crash that happened in the tricky descent.
So I started ME2 again last night WITH the starting comic this time. It didn't really help much. Probably confused me more I'd say. It kept asking me to choose between 2 people but I had no idea who they were. Ended up just choosing the ones with the coolest sounding names :P
Anyway, I started with a female character this time. Going in I thought to myself "Hm... every other game in my Pile o' Shame has a male character so I may as well go for female while I can!". Of course, as soon as I started I remembered that I still had Metroid Prime 3 and three Tomb Raider games to go. :P

First episode was great. I enjoyed it enough to watch until the end of the first season.
Haven't touched it since.
First episode is best episode.
Either people can watch just that or can stick it out to the end of the first season. The second season was a complete waste of time. I'll be watching the third season in the hopes that they turn things around but if they get in another situation like the farm, I'm out.
First episode is awesome, rest of the first season not so much. Second season starts out okay but gets crappier. I quit watching it midway through the second season.
This is coming from someone who's never read the graphic novels so I'm basing this purely on the show alone.

First season was hit & miss in places, 2nd season is really miss up until episode 8? Then it's a lot more hit up until the last episode.

I put Nier on and loaded up my old save. I had no idea what I was doing/where I was going. I turned Nier off.

Restarting RPGs halfway is always fun.
I remember doing that with Fallout 3. Turned it on. Spent about ten minutes trying to get my bearings. Ran into some Radscorpions. Turned it off.
I did that with WoW recently. I had no idea where I was up to, or why I was doing it >.<

Ah... the classic "return to a game and not know what to do so give up on it"
At least with Nier it won't take long if you start again and rush everything. It's actually one of the games worth seeing through to the end at least twice for the awesomesauce story.
That happened to me a few times with DA:O. Made character, played through half the game, got bored, stopped playing for a few months, came back and had no idea what was going on, made new character, played through half the game, got bored, stopped playing for a few months, came back and had no idea what was going on, made new character, played through half the game, got bored, stopped playing for a few months, came back and said "I've played through the first half of the game three times already, I know what's going on", continued playing my last character and finished the game.
That was pretty much me with FFX :P
It was my first Final Fantasy and even though I got it as soon as it came out, I never finished it until 2010 or so. Some games give you a little "summary" of sorts of as to what's going on but even so I'll still forget gameplay mechanics and little things like that which just make the game incredibly hard to get into again :(
I do that with far simpler games than DA:O. But I didn't get bored during DA:O soooo... I finished it :p
