Tried playing Just Cause 2 last night.
Boy howdy those are some interesting controls. Going to take a while to get used to that, if I get used to them at all.
Did you tether things to the ground while you are on top of cars. Thats just the best. Tethering cars to other cars. people to the ground. SOO GOOD.
It's worth it to get used to them, though! Grapple-parachute jumping is the only way to travel!
My favourite thing to do is from the start, grab the speedboat, go to the airport , hijack a plane use it to get where you want. Jump out and cling to the bottom until it starts to crash and parachute away. Rinse repeat :)

Because on the PC you have to quicktime punch people with 1234.

See, this is why my life as a criminal failed so hard. I was trying to hijack cars GTA style. One button press and the person just gives up their ride.
Now that I know you need to go through a quicktime event to commandeer someone's vehicle, it should be much simpler for me to go about my outlaw ways.
Man, I love "Just Derp 2". I remeber on the first mission I missed the land point thingie which caused me to slide down the mountain slowly for like a minute. Also the first NPC you encounter you are supposed to grapple hook him off a roof. I did the but he just got back up and just merrily walked around as if he never fell off the roof. I don't think I beat any missions after the manditory tutorial mission.

I want just cause 3, i want it to have a multiplayer free roam mode. Where all you do is grapple shit with 3 other people. I would never get bored of that. EVER
Multiplayer free roam in Just cause would be fantastic. I'm imagining all the chaos and fun people can cause in multiplayer and it's awesome. Please Avalanche Studios make this happen!!
I did that.
Then I struggled to climb up the casino in the next mission. At one point I fell down the waterfall. A few minutes of tumbling until the game decided that I needed to return to the mission area. Then I got game overed as soon as I could open my parachute.
Derping seems to be the point of this game.
The game's shooting kind of sucks, the missions get repetitive after a while but the game is still fantastic. Grappling stuff together and just causing mayhem is so much fun. Also, CHAOS is the currency in the game -CHAOS! For some reason that is just awesome.
I'm sure you'll grasp the mechanics soon because once you do there is no need to drive anywhere, just use the grapple and parachute combo. So much faster and more fun anyway.
Finally there are some cool secrets to find in the game world. Listing them here is probably a spoiler but just look out for them.
Well I sure am tired. Was up until 3am trying to get my damn computer running properly.
Computers really piss me off sometimes.
My HDD's were playing up, I had 2x1TB, so I decided to buy a 120gb SSD as a boot drive and a 2TB mechanical for everything else. Pulled them all out and put in the SSD for a clean install, that was all fine, get it running. Put in one of the old ones and transfer over what I can to the SSD. Then take out the old and put in the 2TB. It comes up in the bios when it boots up, but when I'm in Windows, it's nowhere to be found. It sees it in device manager, but I can't get it to read. So fuck, I pull them both out and try boot up with the old drive and the new 2TB with no SSD. Same thing, can't read the 2TB. Think maybe it was because the old drives were set to raid maybe. Wipe the SSD and start from scratch with the drives set to AHCI. Nope, now my CD drive won't load. FUCK.
Set bios back to raid and wipe the SSD AGAIN. Install and same fucking thing. When I have the SSD set as boot drive, the 2TB won't show up, but the old 1TB drive does. They are the same brand/model too. So for now I just have the SSD as a boot disk and my old 1TB for everything else. I can live with 1TB for now and that also means I don't have to transfer anything because it's all still on there. But yeah I don't know where I was going with that. I'm tried and pissed off.

Maybe you didn't set your Hardrive to slave with the jumpers, i am guessing you thought of that but other than that maybe your new HDD is Broked
Most drives now don't need to be set and are just master/slave stock. I don't think it's broken, even when installing windows it was an option to install windows to it. It's there, it sees it's there, but when I'm in Windows, I don't have it there.
I haven't installed a hardrive in a computer since high school. :| i am such a low class nerd. Stupid Welbot. WHY YOU MAKE LIFE SO EASY BY DOING EVERYTHING FOR ME. That does remind me. Scree i will send it this afternoon.
Is the 2TB formatted correctly?
I've currently got a 60gb SSD for boot, along with an internal 2TB and an external 1TB. When installing my 2TB, it wasn't formatted correctly. Change the format, and presto, that was my issue.
As for yours, it's odd you mention your CD drive experiencing faults. Are you sure that is related to the installation of the SSD?
I think the CD drive was because I was screwing around in the BIOS changing SATA/IDE/AHCI drive settings, once I switched back it was fine. Pretty sure the format was correct. It's just odd that it shows up fine when installing/in BIOS, even in device manager when in Windows. But it just doesn't come up as a drive I can access
It comes up in device manager... showing all the correct metadata? That's WEIRD man.
I'd say it's the formatting, but if -as indicated- it's not, I'm lost :S
I think I have had a similar problem. If u recall what happened is that Windows failed to partition the drive so you have to do it manually. I don't recall how to do that though. Perhaps Google knows?

That sounds about right, yeah! I can't recall the specifics, though I had to do something similar when attempting to get mine going.
The 2tb drive has probably not been initialized. Does it appear in the BIOS? If so then it's there, you just need to tell Windows to format & mount it. Right click computer, select 'manage'. Open the 'storage' option down the right hand side and select disk management. Most likely your disk will be there and not mounted, it should be self-explanatory from there.
If it's not appearing at all it sounds like a dodgy controller on the motherboard or maybe your PSU is overloaded and can't power the 2tb drive.

I ran into similar problems when I built my current PC. Brand new drives, and so they didn't have any partition info and windows basically only mounted my SSD. I freaked out before I realised the drives were just not enabled.
I started playing Super mario brothers 3 last night, I passed the first world in 8 minutes without losing a life. Next world. 3 worlds and i had a gameover. I think past experiences of me playing that first world like a million times had been commited to muscle memory. Then i got frustrated at it because i had no powerups. I just want a freaking mushroom game. Gonna keep going with that tonight or start megaman X. I am slightly scared because i played that like twice and wont have it committed to memory. I am gonna die So many times :(
You mean you don't just pick up the 2 Warp Flutes in World 1, get to World 2 and pick up the flying P thing, then warp to World 8 and Fly over everything?
Thats how i did it as a kid but i am playing it properly this time. Whats the fun off not playing all the amazing levels. Seriously Dat level design is amazing. In some places its more amazing than others.
Yeah, I never got the idea of playing Mario to beat the game (i.e. skipping levels). I was always playing it for the experience, not the ending.
This doesn't include the levels that suck...

Yeah, you're right. A little sad, but these days I'm much more focused on the finish of most games. Skyrim is an exception, though. It'll probably take me 3 years to finish the main story, like I did with Oblivion. Too much fun to have in the world :P

Currently looking at possible storage configurations, but leaning towards Samsung or Intel SSD with a couple of WD Blacks.

16gb is worth it if you want the system to last. Reason being that WinXP support is the main reason most PC games aren't 64-bit address aware and able to use the extra memory, and WinXP is going away pretty swiftly now (especially for cutting-edge stuff) and also that current console hardware is holding back PC game specs, but the next hardware iteration will probably have craploads of memory so it's safe to assume the old limits will go away.
Besides, it's nice to be able to multi-task and have everything in RAM. Faster load times and everything. And it's not as if it costs much extra.

In a different shop today. Got a pair of shoes to repair. Grab the hook knife and trim the sole. Turns out some joker had sharpened the back edge that rests and slides along the shoe upper because... I'm not sure why exactly. So now I have a $3000 pair of Prada heels with a huge score line along the edge of the leather.

I recall a story on the news when I was living in Canberra, just as they were introducing the new tobacco tax. A woman went into some department store (Big W perhaps?) and was refused the purchase of $5,000 worth of cigarettes. That was roughly a year's supply at a pack a day.
