Tuesday 11pm is normally the time where we discuss non-video game things, but given that we’re in the midst of some pretty full on Steam sales, I thought this might be a good time to ask what you guys and girls have bought? Anyone gone broke yet?
Being perfectly honest, I’ve managed to restrain myself — mostly because I tend to do most of my gaming on consoles, and the gaming PC I bought for Crysis back in 2007 doesn’t quite cut the mustard anymore!
But what about you folks? What have you bought so far in the Steam sales?

Yeah I'm not doing so well either...
1. Serious Sam 3 BFE
2. The Walking Dead
3. Borderlands GOTY - Four Pack
4. The Binding of Isaac
5. Payday: The Heist
6. Trubes Ascend - Steam Starter Pack
And im just about to finalize checkout for
7. Mirrors Edge
8. Post Apocalyptic Mayhem DLC
Also has anyone seen the Modern Warfare bundle for a joke? it reads as follows:
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3
Released 8 Nov 2011
-25% $99.99
$74.99
Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2
Released 12 Nov 2009
-25% $89.99
$67.49
Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare®
Released 21 Nov 2007
-25% $49.99
$37.49
$179.97 USD Price of individual games:
$239.97 USD Bundle cost:
...Lol the bundle is $60 more than buying individualy
Hahahah what a rip-off. Could have gotten all 3 for $60 off Amazon when they were on sale.
Trine 2 Collectors
AssCreRev Gold
Ys Origin
Frozen Synapse: Red DLC
Batman Arkham City: Harley Quinn DLC
Saints Row The Third DLC
The Walking Dead
My wishless has dropped a bit. Good times.
Fallout New Vegas
Batman Arkham City
Tropico 4 DLC
They do make it extremely hard to say no, but so far I'm winning the battle of the wallet...
Half life collection, Crusader Kings, Trine 2, Mount and Blade collection, got given Rochard
I've bought Hard Reset, Saints Row 3, Darksiders, Half Life 2 + Episodes 1 and 2, Legend of Grimrock, Hitman: Blood Money, Mount and Blade: Warband, Fallout 3 GotY and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition for myself (about $62 all up) then Left 4 Dead 2 and Saints Row 3 for a friend ($20 so far), I'm gifting $30 worth of games for his birthday.
Hard reset is a really good game once you work out that getting environmental kills it critical to success.
Mostly the indie packs. Most of the games in those thus far have been pretty amazing. Only 'major' game I've picked up thus far has been AoEIII this morning. That said, there's been some amazing ones up that I just had already.
Waiting till last day for Walking dead - it's tempting, but not quite tempting enough just yet, with other expenses.
Alan Wake American Nightmare from Steam.
LOTR War in the North from the Greenman Gaming sale. So far games on GMG sale are generally cheaper than on Steam.
Total War: Shogun 2 (I've wanted this for a long time)
Bioshock 2 (No time to play it now, but I know I'll play it eventually)
Frozen Synapse (Pretty interesting so far)
Ys: The Oath in Felghana ( always wanted this)
Ys: Origin (always wanted this)
I was considering Payday, but couldn't find enough friends who also wanted it. Overall, I didn't spend as much as I expected, but mainly because a lot of the ones on sale are games that I already own anyway e.g. Terraria, M&B, LA Noire
oh also, I almost bought Batman pack and Two World II, but I really hate GFWL so decided against batman and I heard Two Worlds II has horrible DRM, so I skipped that as well.
I'm usually immune to the Steam sales but this time around I've actually had a little bit of cash to spare so I grabbed The Walking Dead and Dear Esther because I've been wanting to check them out. I was also generously gifted Secret of The Magic Crystal, as well as Left 4 Dead 2 and Botanicula. Now I'm just waiting for everything to download so I can decide what to play first.
Walking Dead is excellent, can't recommend it enough.
Witcher 1 and 2 were on a flash sale yesterday (75% and 60% off respectively), I couldn't have refused! Not much else has caught my eye though...
Before you register Witcher 2 on GOG, go to advanced options, then change your region to US. Then you can 'own' the un-Australian better version ;) Learn from my mistake!
Portal 2 and The Walking Dead episode pack thing. Probably would've bought more but I've been away.
Got all excited when I found out Rage was 66% off today.
Horrified to find it's still over $30AU, but under $10US. Whaaaa-?
I know other publishers do it as well, but Bethesda seems to impose the traditional 'Convict Tax' at a higher rate than other publishers. Skyrim is still $20 more the US price, Fallout:NV Ultimate was more expensive during the sale yesterday (by a massive $2.50, but still), and we can't even buy the Bethesda pack.
It's insanity... today the exchange rate is at 97 cents, but Rage has a whopping 300% markup for us. Behold: http://www.steamprices.com/au/app/9200/rage
SW:KOTOR
Boderlands GOTY edition
Few others which I'm waiting on a daily/flash deal or else the final day of sales.

- Terraria 4-pack
- Legend of Grimrock

- Binding of Isaac
- The Darkness II
- Mount & Blade complete pack
- Cave Story+
- Cyan Complete Pack 2012 (Myst, Manhole etc)
- Metro 2033
- FEAR complete pack
And the sales still have another five days to go :(
Metro2033 is amazing. Played it over a few days.
Can't wait for the new one.
Got Amnesia: The dark Descent ($9.99) and The Witcher ($4.99) :D
Bastion
Flight collection
Crusaders Kings II Sword of Islam
Orcs Must Die!
I'm hoping for a better deal on Take On Helicopters, and I'll probably get Galactic Civilizations II
Arkham City for me. Don't want to go overboard in spending.
Force Unleashed II, Serious Sam 3, Mirror's Edge
I got Alan Wake's American Nightmare, and the Trine franchise bundle for $5!! Still haven't finished the original Alan Wake yet.
I am eagerly awaiting a 75% off Just Cause 2. Sure it's dirt cheap now, but I'll kick myself if I get it and then it drops to like $5
AC: Revelations + Map pack and character DLC
LA Noir
Mafia II
Mirrors Edge
Plus L4D2 for my brother to try and lead him away from consoles...like a carrot and stick method.
And Orcs Must Die + DLC for my friend. And just the DLC for me, as I already own the game.
Dragon Age: Origins
Half Life Complete
The Witcher: EE
Back to the Future
Borgerlands GOTY
Tropico 4
Trine 1 & 2
Hitman 2 & Blood Money
Mount & Blade
The Walking Dead
Mirror's Edge
Only got a little credit left in Paypal (no CC so long wait on refills), so waiting for TW2 to flash again. Really tempted by the Civ V flash atm, despite knowing I won't enjoy it.
Where is Mount and Blade collection? A couple of people have said they got it but I can only find the individual games. Also, if the collection is no longer available which one should I get?
A good 300 dollars worth, and counting. I've given in to the almighty PC as my platform of choice.
A wise choice my son, a wise choice indeed
Way too much.
Finally getting around to playing Mass Effect 2 and Batman Arkham City.
Came at the perfect time as well, tax return time :D
Bethesda Pack (Yay for USA based friends with Paypal accounts!)
Amnesia: The Dark Decent
Batman Arkham City: Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC
F.E.A.R. 3
Terraria
The Walking Dead
I'm sure I'll get more as Community Choice and Flash Sales update.
