I don’t intend for Kotaku Australia to become a bulletin board for things you may or many not want to buy, but I thought it prudent to make you all aware of this one — Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is now available for pre-order on Steam, and it comes with a (very slight) discount.
If you pre-order the game before the August 22, you will receive 10% off the game, meaning it’ll cost $13.49 instead of the normal $14.99. So hardly a massive deal, but hey — you can pre-order the game now, that’s the most important thing I suppose.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is set for release on August 22.

I've been playing the beta of the last few months and I'm really enjoying this game. I really like the changes valve have made to a small number of maps, the addition of new weapons and introducing a load of new maps & game modes.
Considering I'm skipping Activision games this year, this'll be my main fps game for a while. No single player, all about the MP just as I like, and for $15 you can't really go wrong.
However, the game is receiving a lot of flak for some reason, apparently people don't think it's good enough (?). Just check out the comments on PCgamer.

Have been playing BETA for a while, will be pre-ordering when I get home.
It'll be the must play FPS this year.
I played the BETA, it gets the Boo Goose quality assured guaranty. Though no doubt the Internet will gather together a few hundred "dude its all different and sucky" people but they should be put with the "Vaccine caused my child's toes to fall off" crowd and forgotten.
I half expected the game to be free and supported by $99 hats.
CSS Source, an 8 year old game is still more expensive than Global Offense, weird..
Any news on ps3 version release?

You forgot to mention all the CS games for $19, which is a rather good deal.
I can't wait. I lost a million hours into CS when I was in school (or wagging school to play CS) so I'm really excited to give it a go. I'll have to brush up on my AK skills in Source before release though ...
Does anyone know if the beta client becomes the full client or will we have to download another client on full release?
