Sega ran some pretty awful commercials during the early 1990s, but that doesn’t mean everything you saw on TV with the Sega logo on it was dreadful.
Take this 1993 Genesis ad, which…well, it’s great. Really great.

Is this real?
Considering this was the company that gave us 'blast processing' and 'genesis does what nintendon't' I would not put it past Sega for this to be real
I'm *sure* I remember that ad from years back??? I think I saw it online in the very late 90s/early 2000s? Either way Sega made some awesome commercials :D
I think it's actually a fairly smart, humorous commercial. It's better than the other atrocious Sega ads from the Megadrive era.
I thought it was hilarious.
Awesome! And my copy still works ;)
My Megadrive came with Sonic 1 and 2... awesome
I just realised, because the ad is for a Genesis, it must be an United States ad. That taken into consideration, Sonic 2 back in the day cost $54.95US. . .
If anyone is old enough to remember ( I'm not because I was a child when it was released) how much did Sonic 2 cost down here when it was first released?
