Square Enix returns to the well one more time next year with another Final Fantasy XIII spinoff, this one called Lightning Returns. Below, the game’s first trailer. That’s…quite the outfit change you’ve had there, Lightning.

Indeed! It actually looks like they might be letting you have a shot at realistically choosing what attacks you want to use rather than it all being automatic. Makes sense that they bring back that extra element of strategy now that Lighting seems to be on her own and paradigm shifts may be a thing of the past.
It amazes me that this trailer is already in English. Of course they usually record trailers first as I heard they did with XIII-2. But it might be a sign that they are on top of things and we may actually see this game hit our shores before long.
It looks like there is some sort of active button press for the attack sequences… VERY interesting!
Yaaaaaaaaaaay, Kotaku continues to show how shallow they really are… they plug these cheap sequels/rehashes and then turn around and say how shit they are after release. Without any shame to speak of. And that is why I have no shame in pointing that out.
