One Real Good Incentive To Work At Blizzard For 20 Years

If you thought the glass controller Sony employees got after five years of service was a nice gesture, wait til you see what Blizzard employees get for twenty years service.

They get one of the helmets pictured above. It's inspired by Diablo III's Archangel Imperius, with custom tweaks made by its creator, Blizzard's Vice President of Art & Cinematic Development Nick Carpenter.

It's a new award, which won't be ready to ship until next year, and there won't be many people in line to receive one; Blizzard was founded in 1991, meaning only the most veteran of veterans have stuck it out for this long.

Correction: that horned mask is inspired by Activision/Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, not Diablo III’s Archangel Imperius.

    Blizzard was founded in 1991

Nitpicking but "Blizzard" was founded in 1994. From 1991-1994 they were known as Silicon and Synapse.

It may seem stupid to point it out, but it might come into play when they are working out who has been at "Blizzard" for 20 years. You never know.

Awww... I recently reached 5 years at my work, I got..... "Congratulation, here's a handshake"

For my 5 years, I got a double pass to see a movie in gold class that doesn't appear on the "no free tickets" list. So the movie has to be out for at least a 2-3 weeks before I get to see it. And I work at the movies. What a joke.

I've been here 8 years and I've had no recognition whatsoever.

I've been at my job for 8 years. I got no recognition for my 5 years of service and I am pretty sure they don't even know i am still employed with them anymore.

I've been at work for 2 weeks, and I got to go the christmas party.

For my 5 years I got a $250 gift card (not for my work haha) just one of those pre loaded credit card thingys and a pretty expensive pen.

Does it seem wrong to anybody else that the Diablo story I-III is Max Shaefer and the rest of the Blizzard North's team's "baby" before Irvine shut them down yet they wont receive anything for it, really if anybody should get that Helm award its them.
