Details have been scarce on Cyberpunk 2077 since the adaptation of the cult pen-and-paper RPG was announced last May. Now, CD Projekt Red — best known for the hit fantasy action Witcher franchise — is revealing a first look at the futuristic dystopia of its next game.

So I haven’t really been following this, do we know how it’s going to play? First person, third person, shooter, turn based etc?

I am excited to see the immersive world that CDPR can create, hopefully they deliver with the gameplay!

Don’t care what it’s about as long as it’s good (How can it not be with CDPR) , just take my money.

As is the case for all new “games” these days. We have just been shown absolutely nothing of the actual game. The trailer is useless, and you could have no idea about the game other than the setting which we already knew from the title.
Could be great of course! (Hope so). Just saying that I’m sick to death of this kind of preview. All TV game ads are like this now too. The WOW pandaria expansion ad? Shows no gameplay and what it did show was nothing like actual gameplay. So blah – go away movies – I’ll watch those IN the game, not before the game.

If you watch it on Youtube and read the description you will understand a bit more. It’s a teaser trailer that gave me a small peak into the world so it’s satisfied me ;D

A teaser trailer is a lot different from a proper, full trailer. There probably isn’t much gameplay worth showing at the moment, or at least not in a polished enough state to properly show what the game will be like.
I do agree that a full trailer, when a game is close to release, is better if it actually shows off the gameplay.

Oh Hi! You must be new here!
Let me be the first to welcome you to the gaming world of 2013….
In all seriousness, I too am starting to tire of the cycle of pre-release hype which the gaming industry is become. More reporting and “journalism” is done in the years leading up to a game than is done retrospectively.
But thats the way it is and you just gotta dealwithit.gif I suppose, lol. I pay attention once a game is released these days, judge it and get excited about it when there is something I can actually play :p

This looks awesome.
Also there’s a hidden message in the video:
“And that’s not all that’s new, we are about the reveal our other
project which is much closer to being completed. And yes, it will also
be a fully open-world game with an intense story. You can probably
guess the game we’re talking about. On the 5th of February it will be
all clear.”-

The Witcher 3? Boy I hope it’s The Witcher 3. Also that its a simultaneous release across platforms, although that might be a bit much.

Robots with mantis claws are not the problem here. The problem is our culture of violence, violent video games and violent movies are at fault. The only thing that can stop a bad robot with mantis claws is a good robot with mantis claws. We need more robots not less.

Despite the complete lack of gameplay in this trailer I still can’t help but be excited by the idea of this universe in the hands of CD Projekt.

This definitely has my interest. Does anyone know if it’s coming out on Xbox 360?
Also hope the rumours of the Feb 5th announcement is Witcher 3. Witcher 2 was probably my favourite game of 2012

I don’t think it will be on 360 as I don’t think it is coming out this year.
Definitely PC and possibly next gen?

Freeze-frame (at about 2:14) in full:
So you like our latest creation? We certainly hope so! You may remember that we sometimes send you guys secret messages like this. It’s a great way for us to speak right to you instead of burying ourselves in corporate mumbo-jumbo, so let’s begin!
First of all — have you noticed all the details in our teaser (yes, it’s a teaser. We’ll make a proper trailer in the future)? If you know the cyberpunk setting there are some things you can spot, like implants — look look for the weapon hands and real skin — corporate emblems that should look familiar, and more. Happy hunting!
You’re probably curious about the release date. It’s currently scheduled a way off in 2015 but in truth the delivery date is “when it’s done.” We will release cyberpunk to you when we’re convinced it is nothing but pure, refined, unadulterated awesome. We want it to be the most kick-ass futuristic RPG ever — OK, maybe this sounds pretty bull, but it is our actual goal! You judge if we deliver it!
Oh — and you may wonder why we announced the game so early before release. The reason is that we’re still building our dev team, so if you are a talented dude or dudette willing to work in a really different company (gamers rule & boring corporate stuff drools) on a super ambitios project, send us your application right now! careers@cdprojektred.com
So you want to know what kind of game Cyberpunk 2077 will be? The short description is that it will be a story-heavy nonlinear open-world RPG based on the well-known cyberpunk pen & paper system and setting. Building open-world games is something we’re mastering right now, and we believe that properly joining nonlinear with an excellent story telling will bring a totally new quality. Hmm… We’ll tell some more about it soon.
And that’s not all that’s new. We are about the reveal our other project, which is much closer to being completed and yes it will also be a fully open-world game with an intense story. You can probably guess the game we are talking about:- on the 5th of February it will be all clear.
So stay tuned as we will have quite a lot to show and tell you soon
We are waiting for you on our newly created forum called afterlife — what other name could we have chosen for it?
