This commercial for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance gets it. Many of us want to play the game to cut everything up into little pieces, and that’ll feel particularly cathartic after an awful day. Not that the feature can’t be a blast even when you’re not having a bad day, but still. Sweet, sweet release.

Jesus H Christ, the ad might as well tell all the children to go buy some guns and shoot up your local school.

You do realise there is no guns in that trailer at all, don’t you? Maybe its telling kids to go out and buy a katana and slice people to death, but guns??

Yes, honey… Just squeeze your rage up into a bitter little ball and release it at an appropriate time, like that day I hit the referee with the whiskey bottle. Remember when daddy hit the referee?

I tried the demo, I tried to slice the cat up and it wouldn’t let me… lost interest after that.
