Deadspace 3 really didn’t get much build up or hype, it seems to have gotten smaller since deadspace 2, I don’t really know if EA didn’t market, or what.
Sooo, EA forces them to make changes that nobody was in favour of, which didn’t recieve good feedback and hurt their sales, so their solution is to fire the people for doing what they were told?
umm this isn’t news, the Dead Space 3 project ended, they dont need a heap of staff doing nothing in the transitional period between projects. This is common practice with huge teams like those in EA, only the core team and talent get put onto other projects in the meantime. Also alot would of been contractors.
Common practice maybe, but still crappy. The move towards contracts and lack of job security was one of the factors in my decision to leave the games industry, coupled with the really low salary. It’s not an industry well suited to having a stable family life.
