Fumito Ueda Finally Breaks His Silence About The Last Guardian

There always seems to be silence when it come to The Last Guardian. Silence punctuated by a couple of comments every now and then. This statement, made by Fumito Ueda on his own site is one of those moments when there isn’t silence. He actually says stuff! And even addresses the game’s release date…

But of course we leave knowing much the same as we did before.

“As some of you may have heard,” he begins, “I left Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio some time ago to pursue my creative passions. Nevertheless, I continue working on THE LAST GUARDIAN as a freelance contributor.

“While it’s been a long time coming, THE LAST GUARDIAN remains under my creative supervision and is still in development by an incredibly talented team.”

Phew, well that’s good to know. The game is still in development at least and Ueda is still heavily involved it seems. And as for that release date…

“I should also mention that details regarding THE LAST GUARDIAN’s release is solely decided by Sony Computer Entertainment, not myself,” he said. “Please keep an eye out for their official announcement.”

Hopefully this means that an announcement regarding the release date of The Last Guardian is coming sooner rather than later.
