Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be The First Multiplayer Game From The Witcher Makers

What do we know about Cyberpunk 2077 so far? There’s going be fancy new software making it run. You might learn a new language while playing. And parts of it are going to be very pretty. But a few more details are coming to light about the upcoming sci-fi title from CD Projekt Red.

A new interview at Eurogamer reveals that Cyberpunk is going to be an open-world title and will feature multiplayer as well. Here’s the dev studio’s managing director Adam Badowski:

“It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we’re going to add multiplayer features.”

“The first and most important environment for Cyberpunk is the city, obviously. But not only the city: you can expect some more environments in the Cyberpunk game. We want to start in the Night City, which is cool. And yes it will be an open world game as well.”

An RPG structure doesn’t come as much as a surprise to anyone familiar with The Witcher games. But it’s going to be extremely interesting to see what multiplayer ideas CD Projekt Red comes up with for their next-gen game. Let’s hope some sort of co-op makes it into the mix.
