Taking Cosplay Into The Wild, Wild West (Quite Literally)

Cosplay photos are normally taken in a studio, or on a set, or from the relative safety of a convention floor. Rarely do we get to see people dressing up as their favourite characters and actually going to the kind of desolate and wild places their favourite characters do battle/hang out.

So top-shelf cosplay photographer Anna Fischer has decided to run a Kickstarter campaign called The Wild Places, which will take a bunch of cosplay superstars out into the “wild American landscape for a collection of incredible portraits”.

With a target goal of $US3000, it’s already blown way past that and is currently sitting at nearly $US14,000 raised. That money will be covering the expenses required for things like vehicle rental and boat hire for the trip to Arizona, as well as covering the pledge goals, many of which include fancy and exclusive prints of the images taken while on the trip.

When it’s done, most of the photos will be available for viewing online, with select images available only to backers of the project.

Can’t wait to see the end result.
