After the collapse of the MMO Tabula Rasa, Richard Garriott, otherwise known as Lord British, disappeared from the triple-A world. He started a mobile-focused company called Portalarium and other than the ambitiously named “Ultimate RPG”, we haven’t heard much from one of gaming’s legendary figures… until now.
Yesterday, Garriott revealed a website called “Lord British Presents”, though the only content on it right now is a ye-olde countdown timer. As I write this, five days and 14 hours remain before… whatever… happens.
OK, it isn’t a complete mystery. Garriott shed the tiniest speck of light by posting the below image on Twitter.
Which strongly suggests something Ultima-related, or at least, involving the world of Sosaria.
Or it could be an RPG about Stonehenge’s younger brother, Pebblehenge.
Update: The folks over at RPG Codex dug up this image, which points to the reveal being a Kickstarter for a game called Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues. Now, that sounds Ultima-ery.
