“We want the players to be nervous, stressed, and very careful when walking around each corner”.
Ok, that right there, that is Dark Souls.
Ok just got to the scene with the Dragon Castle. it’s definitely a lot more epic than anything I’ve seen in Dark Souls, but holy shit, that looks awesome. Can’t wait to do some FIST CLENCHING.
ALL I CAN SAY IS… WOW!!!
Dear Dark Souls 2, I pledge my soul to thee, i await your release date, i am fully prepared to die all over again!!!
I just hope the last boss is a butt load harder than the first Dark Souls. I defeated whatshisname in one go in just a few hits. He was easily my easiest boss.
Damn I wanted this game to look like the trailer 😛 Looks great as usual – but is this coming to PC?
Please let there be a ‘casual’ or ‘easy’ mode of sorts. I loved Dark Souls but I also really sucked at it.
ok, joking, but kind of not. The game is meant to test you, it’s meant to be a trial. It knocks you down so you can get back up and learn from it, until you eventualy have mastery over the game. It’s never a cheap difficulty either, you can always look at any situation and honestly say to yourself “yep, i fucked up there”.
It’s a pity that the difficulty can be such a barrier for a lot of people, and I definitely understand that, but the difficulty and peoples journey to overcome it is one of the main reasons people love the game so much.
I do understand all that, but it eventually becomes a tedious adventure to play through when you keep dying over and over. Which is a darn shame because I really think this game is awesome but yet I get punished for every little fumble I make. I spent 6 hours on Dark Souls and I’ve felt like I hardly progressed anywhere. I don’t think I suck at games, I just suck particularly at this one.
I don’t think it would do harm to anyone if they just added a ‘simpler’ mode for those that just want to explore this awesome world that FromSoftware created. But I can also see doing that goes against the very ‘ethos’ of this series.
I suppose I should just settle with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.
Could you always walk and shoot with a crossbow/bow in Dark Souls? If you could it was a skill that I missed…
They better do a much better job this time around. Dark Souls stands as one of the worst ports ever made tbh. It was disastrous, nearly unplayable on PC until community fixed it a bit.
Bah, I wish I could enjoy this series, I really do. But the whole making me rage quit part of the game just spoils everything.
