What Final Fantasy VII Would Look Like If It Was Made In France.

TBT: The Black Tower is an unashamed tribute to the late-1990s, when Final Fantasy games weren't afraid to toss polygonal characters on static backgrounds and your text backgrounds were a very rich blue.

Imagine Final Fantasy VII, then - or, on second look, maybe Final Fantasy VIII - made for the PC and developed in the 21st century.

The work of just two developers, TBT is currently up on Steam Greenlight, and if you don't believe me about the Final Fantasy stuff, just watch the video above.

Looks awesome, although I hope they dial back on the neck-aching camera angles. Fixed cameras work fine when it's not so close (higher the better), but when they're too low down and in the thick of it, it's difficult to see what's happening.

Not the best implementation of this semi-fixed camera style I've seen.
It has been too long since I played FF7, so I can't really compare it to that, but it compares poorly to Baten Kaitos on the Gamecube.

And then you look at the hand you just drew... banana, banana..... dammit.

Agree though - but I think this kind of game (baiten included!) is really cool. Kinda of nostalgic just watching it.

If you press select will green and red arrows pop up?

Was that woman in the pink top the town drunk or was that walking animation supposed to be a strut?

Man, that's some nice hip hop music there. Sounds very French!
