But that’s okay! Because this Eevee themed 3DS XL is still really cute — and interesting looking.
Joining the previously released Pikachu 3DS XL, the Eevee themed one is also limited edition and sold only via the Pokémon centre stores in Sapporo, Tohoku, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
Apparently, this is the first image of the special 3DS XL, taken at a Pokémon centre in Japan. Notice how the Pocket Monster appears on the handheld’s bottom.
The Pokémon stores have been recently teasing an Eevee 3DS XL. But snagging one won’t be easy: Between May 15 and June 3, the Pokémon centre shops will hold a raffle to see who can win a chance at purchasing this rare item, which is priced at 18,900 yen (US$189).

A raffle for the opportunity to purchase something.. sounds like the definition of a captive market.

“will hold a raffle to see who can win a chance at purchasing this rare item”
There is something about that quote that I find… wrong.
Raffle… PURCHASING? WHAT THE CHRIST? BWAaaaahhhh…
Sure, the Japanese take the concept of a rare item seriously, unlike in the West where it’s more about paying more money than any actual concept of rarity.
