Here in the United States, we’ve seen English releases of every Ace Attorney game to date — except for one. Ace Attorney Investigations 2, the sequel to the spinoff that put you in the prosecuting pants of the stylish Miles Edgeworth (as opposed to Phoenix Wright, the hotshot lawyer who stars in most of the Ace Attorney games), never made it to the West in any form.
Most people assumed that Capcom held the game back because Ace Attorney Investigations didn’t sell too well, but according to longtime series producer Motohide Eshiro, the localisation was actually held up due to scheduling.
“The main reason was just scheduling,” Eshiro told me through a translator at E3 today. “Also, the staff for Ace Attorney Investigations 2 — after they finished developing the game, they were disbanded and went to different teams, so they weren’t in a position to localise.”
“Any chance we’ll see the game in the future?” I asked.
Eshiro laughed. “Can’t make any promises.”
Fortunately, the next mainline game in the series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, is already confirmed for the West. I just played a bit in English, and so far it’s looking as wonderful as expected. Expect more thoughts and coverage in the near future.

there are a few lets plays of AAI2 on youtube with translation captions, unfortunately it is the best that we can get until someone gets a translation hack for the roms.
Edgeypoo is great and playing a game starring him was great and Kay was cute that is all.
THAT IS A RETARDED REASON TO DENY US A GREAT GAME! Argh!
