David Jaffe Returns To Help With Another Car Combat Game

Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe has teamed up with some of the developers behind the underrated Interstate 76 to begin work on a new vehicle combat game called MotorGun.

Currently looking for funding on Kickstarter, MotorGun looks and sounds pretty much exactly how you’d imagine a game coming from those guys to be.

MotorGun will weld real world car physics and a diverse set of realistic cars to a set of amazing weapons systems of all kinds. It puts you in control of a deep set of customisation elements – from paint to payload, it’s all up to you. As you play you’ll advance and be exposed to an ever-deepening set of vehicle tech-trees, blowers, turbos and sway bars – heat seekers, miniguns and rocket pods. Try you hand in multiplayer combat in the wasteland. To the victor goes the spoils. It’s the culmination of over two decades of car combat video game pedigrees and it’s commin’ at you at wide open throttle.

They’re looking for $US650,000 in funding. It’ll be interesting to see if they get anywhere near it, given this is a genre that doesn’t really fit the Kickstarter success mould (namely, being a vintage type of game that doesn’t get made anymore).
